Dr. Park earned his Ph.D. in Political Science at Michigan State University in May 2017, where he also worked as an assistant professor (fixed-term) prior to join Nazarbayev University. He specializes in comparative political economy and electoral politics, broadly speaking. He investigates how political agents interact under different economic conditions and political institutions, and then what political consequences these interactions produce in the context of electoral politics. In particular, his research focuses on economic inequality as the main factor which shapes the incentives of political actors and drives various political consequences.
