Dear All,
We are thrilled to invite you to a Research Seminar hosted by the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE) at the School of Engineering and Digital Sciences (SEDS) of Nazarbayev University and the IEEE Kazakhstan Subsection. This seminar is supported by IEEE CAS Distinguished Lecture Program, and our distinguished guest speaker is Professor Orazio Aiello from the Department of Electrical, Electronic, Telecommunications Engineering, and Naval Architecture at the University of Genoa, Italy.
Title: Towards Energy-Autonomous and Low-Cost Distributed Sensor Nodes: Approaches and Perspectives
This lecture explores the future of distributed sensing and data acquisition through energy-autonomous systems embedded in everyday devices—from home appliances to healthcare systems. Professor Aiello will discuss design and technological solutions that make these systems both cost-effective and space-efficient. A key focus will be on how digital design flow can enhance analog-digital integration, offering insights into how common devices can seamlessly gather and process real-world data.
Professor Orazio Aiello, a Senior Member of IEEE, has an extensive background in energy-efficient analog-mixed signal circuits and sensor interfaces. He is currently a tenure-track Assistant Professor at the University of Genoa and has led several EU-funded projects. Prof. Aiello is an Associate Editor of IET Electronics Letters and the International Journal of Circuit Theory and Applications (Wiley) and is active on IEEE technical program committees.
