Zero Tolerance for Plagiarism and the Competition for Talent: Featured in Kazinform's Podcast

Kazinform News Agency has launched a new podcast series titled BIZDIÑ ORTA, dedicated to current issues in politics, economics, and social development. One of the recent episodes featured Dr. Aslan Sarinzhipov, Executive Vice President of Nazarbayev University (NU), and Sergey Pen, Provost of Maqsut Narikbayev University (MNU).

Dr. Sarinzhipov noted that NU was established as an alternative to the Bolashak program and now competes for students and faculty on a global scale, adhering to a strict policy of zero tolerance for plagiarism while offering high-quality academic conditions. He emphasized that competition in higher education drives progress and that more than 90% of NU graduates continue to work in Kazakhstan. At the same time, he stressed the importance of local employers providing attractive conditions not only in terms of salaries but also for professional development.

Dr. Sergey Pen, in turn, highlighted the different academic focuses of the two universities, NU and MNU, while noting areas of overlap in the humanities and emphasizing the high level of trust in NU degrees.
