Share this articleThe Department of Internationalization (ISSS) at Nazarbayev University hosted a year-end event for international students, bringing together students, staff, and representatives of the Social Development Fund.
In her congratulatory speech, NU Vice President Kadisha Dairova highlighted the university's growing international presence, noting that 297 students from 37 countries currently study at NU across various programs. These countries include Afghanistan, Armenia, Australia, Germany, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Singapore, the United States, and others. Vice President shared plans to increase the number of international students.
"Thank you for choosing Kazakhstan as your study destination. We want you to feel at home here, especially for those who couldn't travel during the holidays and stayed on campus," said Vice President Dairova. "The goal of our event is to create opportunities for networking and foster an atmosphere of celebration and comfort. I also want to thank our active students for their assistance and volunteer efforts, as well as the Department of Internationalization and the USM Transportation Service staff."
She presented Certificates of Appreciation to both students and staff for their contributions. Aray Saniyazova, Head of International Students and Scholars Services at the Department of Internationalization, also expressed gratitude to the USM Transportation Service team. She acknowledged their seamless support in transporting incoming and outgoing students and professors. Saniyazova organized interactive activities during the evening to encourage international students to connect and build friendships.
The event concluded with a vibrant dance and student musical performances, celebrating NU's diverse and inclusive community.
