Nazarbayev University (NU) and Técnicas Reunidas, a leading international engineering and construction company based in Spain, have signed a Cooperation Agreement.

Under the agreement, NU engineering students will have the opportunity to complete a six-month internship at the prestigious Spanish company.

The internship program is divided into two phases: the first two months will consist of online training sessions conducted by engineers from Madrid. Then, starting in September, students will travel to Madrid to continue their internship on-site for an additional 3–4 months. All expenses related to the internship will be covered by the company.

"Each year, 30 students from Kazakhstan will be selected. In the first stage, we ask the university to provide a list of the most talented engineering students. Then, the selection process includes two rounds of interviews. The first is an HR interview, where we assess the candidates' personal qualities. The second is a technical interview conducted by our engineers," explained Firangiz Mammadova, Country HR Manager at Técnicas Reunidas.

Upon completion of the internship, participants will be evaluated, and those who demonstrate outstanding performance will be offered full-time positions at Técnicas Reunidas.

“We collaborate with over 300 top employers in Kazakhstan. In fact, our students are in high demand and rarely need to search for jobs after graduation, as our Career and Advising Center supports them in finding suitable opportunities. The world is becoming increasingly complex and uncertain. Thank you for choosing Kazakhstan as a base for your operations and for creating career opportunities for our talented youth,” said Kadisha Dairova, NU Vice President for Student Affairs and International Cooperation, expressing her appreciation to the company’s representatives.

The event concluded with an official signing ceremony of the Cooperation Agreement.

Background: Técnicas Reunidas is a Spanish engineering and construction firm founded in Madrid in 1959. Over more than 60 years, the company has designed and built over 1,000 industrial facilities across 50 countries, including Kazakhstan. It specializes in the design and construction of plants for the production of clean fuels, natural gas, and petrochemical products.
