Medical Services on Campus

 

Health services on campus arranged by the Health and Well-being  Department (HWD). Our department is dedicated to fostering a healthy and supportive environment for the NU community.

Our goal is to ensure accessible, high-quality healthcare services and to promote physical, mental, and social well-being. Through a comprehensive approach, we aim to address the diverse health needs of students, staff, and faculty, while prioritizing preventive care and health education.

 

Key areas of HWD’s activities include:

  • Voluntary health insurance services provision and control;
  • Coordination of medical services on campus including University Health Center (UHC) and Doctor on Duty;
  • Medical Check-ups;
  • Monitoring of the epidemiological situation on campus;
  • Management of infectious disease outbreaks;
  • Health data collection and analysis;
  • Implementation of robust measures to ensure public health and safety;
  • Support for individuals with disabilities or chronic health conditions;
  • Vaccination;
  • First Aid Training and etc.

 

University Health Center (UHC)

NU has its own University Health Center (UHC) on campus. Since its opening in January 2018, the UHC has become an integral part of the campus infrastructure. It is staffed by highly qualified medical professionals ready to assist with a wide range of health needs.

UHC mission is to provide high-quality healthcare and wellness services, helping all community members maintain good health and achieve their academic, career, and personal goals.

Services provided by the UHC:

  • Primary healthcare services for citizens and residents of Kazakhstan in accordance with national standards;
  • Medical services under voluntary health insurance programs;
  • Paid medical services, including specialist consultations, laboratory and diagnostic examinations.

 

UHC working hours:

  • Monday – Friday: 08:00 – 20:00
  • Saturday: 09:00 – 13:00 (
  • Sunday: Closed

Location:

UHC is located on the ground floor of blocks D7–D8 (24–25).
You can access the center via:

  • The skywalk between the Atrium and blocks D5–D8 (22–25);
  • Street entrances from blocks D5 (22) or D7 (24).

Doctor on Duty

In urgent cases outside UHC’s working hours, an on-call medical room is available on campus.
If your condition does not require emergency ambulance assistance, we recommend contacting the on-call physician.

For emergency situations outside working hours of UHC, on campus operates an on-duty medical office.

If your condition does not require emergency ambulance assistance, we recommend visiting a doctor on-duty.

There are two pharmacies on campus where you can purchase medications and receive professional consultations.

Location: Blocks D5-D6 (22-23) next to the Magnum Express
