The Psychological Counseling Service (PCS) operates within the structure of the NU Health and Well-being Department.
The mission of the Psychological Counseling Service is to support the NU community in fostering psychological growth, unlocking individual potential, enhancing quality of life, and creating a supportive and inspiring educational environment.
Goals:
- Provide accessible and high-quality psychological assistance.
- Reduce stress levels and prevent emotional and psychological crises.
Objectives:
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions on any mental health-related issues.
- Provide support in crisis situations and assist in finding ways to resolve them.
- Organize training sessions and workshops aimed at developing stress resilience, emotional intelligence, and psychological stability.
- Raise awareness about key aspects of mental health through lectures, webinars, and informational materials.
The Psychological Counseling Service provides following services:
- On-Duty Consultant service (Triage consulting)
- Psychological counseling (individual, group)
- Crisis counseling (emergency assistance to clients in situations of health threat, multidisciplinary
- team services)
- Assistance programs for victims of harassment (sexual, gender, psychological, physical, domestic
- violence, harassment and harassment, Internet bullying)
- Outreach programs (Stress Management, Time Management, Red Folder, Art therapy)
- Social services , psychosocial support for students with special needs
- Work with international students.
- Conducting consultations on complex psychosocial needs of clients.
In what cases can I contact the Psychological Counseling Service?
- Anxiety and nervousness of any kind
- Panic attacks, fears
- Mood swings
- Conflicts and problems in relationships (in the family, with a partner, peers)
- Sleep disorders
- Eating disorders and problems
- Depression, apathy
- Problems with academic performance
- Psychosomatics
- Self-harm and Suicidal tendencies
- Abusive relationships (physical, sexual, emotional abuse)
- Loss, grief for loved ones and relatives
- Problems with self-esteem, self-confidence, Impostor syndrome
- Procrastination
What should I do to get a consultation?
Call the consultant on duty via telegram. You have been provided a link to the channel in the Psychological Counseling Services section of the student portal and the employee portal. The consultant on duty, after conducting a triage assessment of the condition, will refer you to the necessary specialists for consultation.
Is it possible to cancel the consultation?
The consultation can be cancelled 24 hours in advance
