Seminar “Some classical and new results concerning Hardy type inequalities”

When and where:
Friday, October 5, 2012, 5 pm – 6 pm
Nazarbayev University, Block 7, Room 7246
Professor Lars-Erik Persson (Lulea University of Technology, Sweden, former President of the Swedish Mathematical Society, former member of the Mathematics Committee at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences).
Language: English.
Abstract: I will first give a few words about myself, my research and my connection to Kazakhstan. After that I will present some historical remarks concerning Hardy Type Inequalities in a very elementary way. I will also present some new results which are surprisingly simple but fundamental and which we have discovered so recently so they can not be found e.g. in my books:
1. A. Kufner and L.E. Persson, Weighted Inequalities of Hardy Type, World Scientific Publishing, 2003
2. A. Kufner, L. Maligranda and L.E. Persson, The Hardy Inequality-Abouts its History and some Related Results, Vydavatelsky Sevis Publishing House, Pilsen, 2007.
3. V. Kokilashvili, A. Meshki and L.E. Persson, Weighted Norm Inequalities for Integral Transforms with Product Kernels, Nova Science Publishers, Inc., New York, 2010.
This event is open to the NU community and general public. Attendees who do not hold Nazarbayev University ID cards should come with official ID and be prepared to register on entry to the university.
