This year, 3,000 new students have embarked on their academic journey at NU, including over 600 foundation students (NUFYP), nearly 1,500 undergraduates, and more than 800 master's and PhD students. Notably, this cohort includes 150 international students, the largest number in the university’s fifteen-year history.

The university welcomed new students during Orientation Week, where they were introduced to university life through a series of sessions, meetings, and events designed to help them transition smoothly. Topics included how to choose and register for courses, meet professors, settle into dormitories, and familiarize themselves with the various services and resources available on campus. NU consistently prioritizes these orientation activities to ensure that incoming students are well-prepared to begin their academic journeys.

Moreover, in a recent social survey conducted by AQYL ALEM, NU was rated the top university in Kazakhstan. The survey, which included students from 43 of the largest universities in the country, assessed institutions based on 17 criteria, including overall student satisfaction, schedule stability, job placement assistance, management, dormitory living conditions, and the availability of extracurricular activities. NU scored the highest in the overall ranking and was also praised for having the most responsive administrative and technical staff.

Despite widespread complaints about dormitory conditions at other universities, NU stood out by scoring the highest in this category, with 71 out of 100 possible points, further solidifying its reputation as a leading institution in Kazakhstan.

NU is recognized for offering a high-quality education in a research-intensive environment, with internationally benchmarked programs. The university continues to provide its outstanding facilities, including student accommodations, sports facilities, and opportunities for students to engage in university governance, contributing to an exceptional student experience.
